Our Learning Spaces

Overbrook Preschool and Kindergarten is housed in the historic building of Overbrook Presbyterian Church.  Each classroom reflects Overbrook’s emphasis on child-led exploration and meaningful, play-based activities. The children’s ideas, questions, curiosity, and interests define the classroom exploration and guide teachers as they design their rooms. Overbrook teachers value the children as unique individuals and provide opportunities for them to express themselves in a variety of ways:

  • Paint

  • Clay

  • Blocks

  • Natural materials

  • Recyclables

  • Writing

  • Music

  • Movement

  • Drama

Our outdoor learning spaces include beautiful gingko and copper beech trees, whose ever-changing colors we enjoy throughout the year. We have a partially shaded play space that includes a climber, swings, sandbox, and a very popular tree house. The children enjoy working in our school garden planting flowers as well as herbs and some vegetables. We also welcome our flying friends with bird feeders, nesting balls, and birdbaths that the children create and hang throughout our outdoor spaces.
